Apartment Review for Ballston Court - Arlington, VA

When my roommate and I first moved in we were drawn to Ballston Court by its attractive rates. The leasing manager we met with seemed nice enough and the area didn't seem too bad. We were, however, quickly hit with the reality of our decision upon moving in. 1) Our a/c didn't work, I'm talking on day 1 of moving in they didn't have it working. And since they "fixed" it its continued to happen to us several times. 2) We've had to take everything out of our cabinets and bathroom 4 or 5 times now for management to come through and do a bug examination. Presumably this is done when someone in the building complains, which should be everday seeing as I see bugs just about everyday, like last week when I found a dead cochroach on my dry cleaning. 3) Maintaince still hasn't fixed some of our complaints from the INITIAL examination of the apt done WITH the leasing manager 4) cable, internet, phone all didn't work well when we first moved in. when our apt was painted the person just painted right over the sockets so I had to have someone from our phone company come out and repair the socket. 5) You can't control the heat or cooling and management decides to turn each on at the last possible date before tenants would probably start sleeping at friend's places. 6) The kitchen has just, not kidding, ONE draw. Another tenents kitchen I know of has NO electrical outlets. 7) Apts are overall just old and in poor shape. I'm trying to get out asap. Terrible mistake moving here, not worth the "low" rent which keeps raising anyway.
