Bad Managment/Horrible Renewal Terms
Review Date: 6/28/2004 Reviewer: Anonymous
The managment over the past year and half has fluxuiated from horrible to lackluster. The chief engineer for the building has a real chip on his shoulder and can't be bothered by a resident after hours (in my experience). Front desk attendants are extremely nice and I've had no problem with them what so ever. As a whole, I've found the apartment building nice and would actually consider staying here for quite a while longer, however, the increase in rent if you choose to stay on a month to month basis after the expiration of your lease term is beyond justification. When I moved her in January 2003 the rent for my efficiency ran around $930. My most recent notice (under the month to month) quoted a rent of $1475 per month. Obviously much more than the market value or industry average increase. The notice of increase was made even worse when I called an inquired ( anonymously) about the rental rates for an apartment like mine and was told they begin in the $1000-1200 range (whereas my notice quotes a 300 premium). I suppose those familar with Charles E. Smith properties wouldn't expect much else. |
