Get what you pay for

The major 'pros' are that this is a conveniently located and (relative to other apartment buildings in the area) very affordable apartmental rental. Condition of the individual apartments are 'ok' (would rate a 6/10). I had a place that backed to a construction site and can say that there was minimal noise disturbance. The cons - a laundry list: 1. Upkeep of common areas of the buildings is horrible (rate a 2/10). The stairs have paint peeling, the corridors have trash randomly on the ground, the corridor green 'carpent is repellant, and the laundry room is point blank dirty. 2. Security is weak - the front and back entrance door had a working lock probably 2 out of the 12 months I was here 3. Outdoor maintenace is poor - there was a party above me and beer cans came a fallin to the ground and stayed there for one week - at which point I complained 4. Management can be non-responsive - while they seem to be doing their best and are relatively friendly, actual closing of open issues took way too much effort on my part. All in all, you get what you pay for. If you are interested in saving $200 - 600/month in rent relative to other apartments in the area, then this place definitely shoudl be considered.
