Apartment Review for Dolley Madison Towers - Arlington, VA

This place has all of the makings of being a quality place to live, but even with the recent changes in management - you are left questioning if its worth the hassles. The latest example relates to a "new policy" where residents now get the privilege of paying $5.00 every time a guest comes to visit - starting at 6:00 p.m. Given that there is absolutely NO STREET PARKING available anywhere near the complex, residents are given the choice of being anti-social or forking out $5.00 for each friend who comes over. So if you ever want to have people over to watch the game or grab a bite to eat, you better plan on paying this absurd expense for each of them. Oh, and did I mention that there are only about a dozen spots for guests - FOR THE WHOLE BUILDING!! - so if you're planning a party, you better have your guests get there before any of the other residents' have guest stop by or your friends will be totally screwed. Parking as a whole is a joke--a total debacle--half-filled garages, inconsistent charges for spots (see other posts), no street parking, poor customer service, generally pathetic management. If you like getting nickeled and dimed, this is the place for you - if not, there are plenty of more convenient places to call home.
