Lower Rent = "Low Rent"

Here are the issues I have with DMT: 1. We were given a form to fill out at the beginning of year to help alleviate the parking problem, in other words, to deter unauthorized individuals from parking here illegally. About a month later, we were told that we would be assigned spaces on a first-come, first-serve basis. This was supposed to be completed some time in March. A good portion of the tenants did what was asked and turned in their paperwork on time. New spaces were assigned for those people, the old numbers on the slots were painted over and new ones were applied. We were told that by March 29 people who didn't belong in the spaces would be towed. It's now the middle of April and because maybe 4 or 5 people couldn't be responsible after 3 whole months, upper management in Vienna has decided to cater to their every immature whim and continues to move the date. So, even if you have a space, don't count on parking in it because Dittmar will not tow those cars that are in your spot. 2. DMT has become a noise nightmare, especially on weekends. There are a lot of loud, young men in this building. Just last night, a group assembled on their 5th floor corner balcony on the golf course side of the complex and could be heard saying/yelling the most disgusting things about sex and women. It was appalling. In addition, in the front of the building (again on the golf course side) there is a traffic circle and cars pull in all hours of the night often screeching tires, blaring loud music. Drunk tenants can be heard because they are often loud and the sound carries up into the u-shaped area. You can forget about keeping your window open when it's warm. (Oh and don't bother trying to turn on the air, if it is because it doesn't work this time of year.) Did I tell you you can hear your upstairs neighbors urinating throughout the day? 3. I have noticed an increase in vandalism in the public areas to include the elevators. There are no cameras anywhere in this building, so it makes DMT a ready target for crime. 4. Along with the vandalism, on a few occasions, and most recently in March, I've smelled vomit in one of the stair wells. They say it was cleaned, but it still smells and you can even see the stain on a few of the steps. The hallways are getting rattier looking because people will just drop garbage there and in the elevator. Two weeks ago, I stepped on broken glass in the lower level hallway. 5. You get what you pay for: These apartments were refurbished, and Dittmar DID SPARE expense. They put in the cheapest carpeting and appliances. After about 6 months use, the door hinges loosen, the microwave settings can't be changed, and the painting job is abysmal. When I moved in, there was sheet rock dust on everything, the putty around the top of the shower unit looked like it was done by a 5-year-old, same with the painting. The windows are filthy from the construction next door. The balcony landing badly needs a paint job badly, and the bricks are either crumbling or loosing their painted on color. |
