Apartment Review for Taylor Place - Arlington, VA

Well, I won't even start on the utility situation. Other posters have summed that up. I will say though, since I moved in about 3 years ago, there has not been a month where the management doesn't have and excuse to come into the apartment. There is always a note when I come home informing me that they are going to have to come in and look at this, or do that. I paid extra to live in an apartment with a washer and dryer in unit, however for the past 3 weeks the washer and dryer have not worked. They say that there is something wrong with the pipes. But instead of fixing the problem immediatly, they always wait about 4 to 5 days to "try" to fix the problem. This results in having to pay extra to use the washer and dryers downstairs. YOu would think that this would result in a discount on rent but they told me to read the fine print. Oh, my air conditioner leaked when I was on vacation and made a nice puddle that covered furniture and throw rugs. I am sure that they won't refund my deposit. I have had problems closing out my lease as well. The longer you stay the more they raise the rent. I started paying 1080 when I first moved in 3 year ago, now they wanted me to extend my lease for another year at 1287. How does rent go up $200 in 2 years? I have not had a pleasent experience at Taylor Place. The new management (started about 6/07) has been horrible. Overall, I do not recomend this complex to anyone. Do not rent here.
