Apartment Review for The Amelia - Arlington, VA

I don't know what a lot of the other people who are giving these reviews were expecting, but this building has more than lived up to my expectations. Everything is brand new; we were some of the first tenants into the building. The apartments are well-built and have thoughtful finishes and good layouts. Maintenance has been excellent; staff comes almost immediately and fixes the problem (of which we have had very few). The price is comparable to any of the Archstone rat-traps or other Dittmar properties. No, it doesn't have a pool, sorry. AMEN to the guy who complained about the lack of grills...the corner of the courtyard with that white wooden thing is just begging for a grill to be installed. The building itself is very quiet; I hardly ever see anyone in the halls and have not ever been kept awake by noise (and I am EXTREMELY sensitive to noise). Yes the manager is a little odd, but she has done everything we have ever asked of her. The janitor hangs out in the foyer and stares at people all day, it's really creepy but whatever. The other front desk staff seem pretty standard. Any administrative-type requests we have made have been turned around very rapidly. Short story: it's a BRAND NEW BUILDING. You can live in it. It costs money. Pretty much about as good as it gets.
